Labour inducing tips. HELP!

I know labour will happen when the time is ready but please could you share any tips to help induce it. I have developed pregnancy induced hypertension in the last week or so. I am 39 weeks. Currently on meds to help keep it a bit more stable. All other obs have been fine every single time. I have declined induction nfoe now because I would like to see if spontaneous labour will happen from now until my due date on the 29th, where an induction has been pencilled in. I have a pregnancy ball, but willing to try anything else at this point to try and get things moving. I do feel the ball helps because I get more twinges when moving around on it and walking in general helps. I get more tightening and twinges. Any tips will be great :)

I was high risk and had induction planned for the 14th! Went into full labour on 12, Gave birth on the 13. The week leading up I was out walking everyday 10,000+ steps lol, had 2 cups of raspberry leaf tea, date smoothie, and fresh pineapple/juice everyday. Yoga ball for at least an hour at a time 8 shape with hips and leaning right forward so resting on the coxis and back like I’m about to twerk. Good luck ❤️ I hope you manage to beat your induction. I will keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞

@Tacia do you mind me asking what you were high risk for? They've marked me as high risk since 5 months because of positive Doppler results, and now the random spike in blood pressure the last week. I really want to walk more but I am actually struggling with this. It's becoming so uncomfortable. I've been getting a lot of pressure in my down below and my tummy tightens when walking and I get twinges. Maybe I should at least try one long walk near home 🫠 or go on my treadmill. I have never tried raspberry leaf tea, not even in my other 3 pregnancies, maybe I should give it a go. I like dates and have been eating them here and there but not religiously. Yes, those pregnancy ball moves sounds like what I've been doing and I really do feel twinges when I do, and my belly tightens as well

I have a renal reflux and ckd. My kidney stopped draining through pregnancy and I was high risk with my blood pressure. I also have seizures and EDS too lol. If you are struggling to walk even just bouncing on the ball and then walking across the room/into the next brought on contractions for me. Everyone says raspberry leaf tea is gross but I actually like it. It’s the dates I don’t like. I would cover 5 of them in boiling water and let soak for 10 mins then add abit of milk and a banana to that and blend it :)

@Tacia oh bless you. Is everything ok with you now? Yes, I'm struggling to walk and getting up and down from a sitting position can be really uncomfortable. Maybe I should just keep walking and push through because I really would like to avoid any induction where possible. The dates sound like a good idea! I will definitely try this :) Thanks!

I gave birth 15 days ago…at 40+3 and I progressed very quickly in labour getting to 10cm very quickly and had no sweeps or inductions. Things I did weeks before: - 7 dates a day - raspberry leaf tea capsules daily - ball figure of 8 daily - long walks 30-60 mins daily - listened to meditations and positive affirmations - tried to do things I enjoyed - watch fav shows, read books, baking : anything to destress & get the oxytocin flowing / reduce adrenaline Day(s) before: - spicy curries - did the dead the night before (still think this is what did it!) my waters broke the morning after. - totally relaxed and let go of all expectations, stopped trying to get things moving and accept where I was - remembering “my baby will come when my baby is ready”

I had inducción booked for day 39+6 due to gestational diabetes, but on the 17th(38+5) went to monitor as noticed a reduced in movement due to very rigid bump, they told me they could do a sweep and accepted it, 6 hours later I was in labour and had my baby on the 18th morning. It worked beautifully. On the first midwife home visit she told me that was the best thing I could have hoped for rather than pessaries induction that tend to go into much harder labour and complication. They, midwifes can’t really contradict what doctors recommend but kind of suggested that induction is not really a good idea. With this said I said yes to the sweep because I was 2 cm dilated otherwise I would have rejected. Ask your midwife if she would recommend a sweep in your case, for me it did but might not be the best speech for you.

**best approach for you *** (so tired… 😅)
