@Lauren thanks for responding. I thought that may be the case and obviously want what’s best for baby!
I want to be induced early I’ve had so many scares reduced movement increase fluid around the baby it’s only mild but it’s giving me constant worry but I don’t know if they’ll let me
@Katie I guess we can only ask! It’s horrible constantly worrying isn’t it!x
I spoke to my friend who is a midwife about this, not that I have a medical reason to have baby here early, just fed up of being pregnant. She said whilst 37 weeks is classed as full term they don’t like to interfere unless there is a real medical need to bring baby here early, and induction counts as medical intervention. I have another friend who used the Nuffield and who had a C section at 38 weeks, no medical reason, just wanted it… so perhaps the only way to bring baby out early is to pay privately if it’s an option for you, however this isn’t an option for many 😔
@Camilla ah yeah we are like you say not in a position to go private unfortunately! I’ll have a word with my midwife at my next appointment I just wanted to see if anyone knew if it was done really but it’s looking like a no 😬 I’m hoping once I stop working soon it’ll feel less painful ect! Thanks for responding 🥰
You can ask but it’s definitely not common, they wouldn’t induce me till 41 weeks last time when I asked for a induction, and that was with them telling me I was going to have over 10lb baby and was high risk, if you really wanted them early an elective c section is 39 weeks which could still save you a few weeks of PGP pain x
@Megan oh really! They booked my induction at 40+2 they said he was going to be 8lbs8oz I feel like they shouldn’t make you wait till 41 weeks tha ain’t fair especially high risk and big baby.
@Katie I know safe to say I wasn’t impressed! Ended up as an emergency c section so going for an elective this time as they talked of induction again (earlier as I have GD this time) and I refuse to do another induction 😬
@Megan I feel like some doctors and midwife’s just don’t care! It’s our body and our baby yet they don’t listen to what we want and how we feel they just want it easier for themselves x
They won't do it for PGP I tried with my last baby as I was on crutches the last month due to pain, this time I'm still in agony and can barely walk round the house without being in pain but it doesn't effect baby so it's safer for them to stay put and us to rest
