Ending pumping

Hello I’m a FTM and I have started adding whole milk into my babies breast milk bottles he seems to use the bathroom ok and he likes it. I’m starting to pump as of today every 4hrs. What can I do to stop my milk production. How many ozs of milk is he supposed to be drinking once he’s fully on whole milk?

Babies still get the majority of their nutrients and calories from formula or breastmilk until at least 12 months. Whole milk is not intended to fully replace it, especially not until 12 months.

Take a decongestant like sudafed, it can help with drying your milk out. As far as the milk I was told not to drink whole milk until 12 months so I wouldn’t know.

Cabbage leaves help i believe and mint. As others have said baby is not supposed to have milk until 12 months. It hard on their stomach and kidneys might not be able to handle all the proteins and minerals.

Just slowly decrease the amount of pump sessions you have. And don’t rush it. Take a few days and see how you do and then take away one more. Give yourself a few weeks. And I second everyone else, they don’t need the milk until 1 and even then they don’t necessarily NEED it. Instead I would increase the amount of solids.
