@Ceri I’m really hoping so, my due date is tomorrow I’d love for her to be here! I’ve got a high (ish) pain threshold when it comes to “period like pains” as I’ve always had chronic period pains, just not sure what’s what, the midwife said I was about 1cm dilated but it felt like it could have opened a little more when she was doing the sweep. I can’t wait to meet my girl 🥺x
It won’t be long now for you 🙏🏻🥰 I had my baby 15 days ago & my labour started 2 days after my due date and born on 40+3 but I remember reaching the due date & desperately wanting some sign he was on the way! I’m the same with high pain threshold/ very painful periods. I was actually 3cm dilated with cramps going shopping in Morrisons.. 🤣I went back to hospital and had gone to 4-5cm dilated… had no pain relief at that point. I got to 9cm on gas & air alone ! It’s really hard to judge the pain when you’ve been used to dealing with chronic pain. I was totally shocked how quickly I progressed & thought the pain wasn’t bad enough or should have been worse but what made me think to go back to the hospital was the timing of contractions - they became so close together 3-4 min apart & I felt very sick/ vomited - I knew something felt very off !
Did they say if you were dilated at all? I also had a sweep today and hopefully things will start happening over the next 2 days.
I had my first sweep yesterday and today is my due date! Was 1 and a half Cm dialated. But nothing else has happened. Have my second sweep Tomorrow
I didn’t have a sweep but went into spontaneous labour and for me the signs were very frequent peeing like every 30-60 mins, period like cramps to begin with that gradually got worse and nausea and insomnia x
38+2 woke up yesterday with extreme sickness out of no where again, needing to wee every 15/20 minutes, went up to triage for reduced movements and turns out im in early labour! No other symptoms other than those however since coming home tonight to “progress further at home” like they told me to, the braxton hicks that I thought I was just having are a lot more intense and turned out to be early contractions! Triage wouldn’t check for dilation as his heart rate kept rising everytime it picked up I was having a contraction however to me when I was in triage they just felt like he was rolling around!! Also worth a mention my waters haven’t broke and I haven’t had my bloody show yet! xx
Could be early labour. Only thing is you would know it’s labour as the contractions get very close together & very intense!
