Not burping in the night

So my 8 month usually has the boob back to sleep but when my partner does the night, he gives him a bottle of boob milk when he wakes up, he falls asleep while drinking this. Sometimes my partner leaves him in his cot and gives him the bottle while he's laying down. Because he's then asleep after the bottle, he doesn't burp him, is that ok?

I mean unless he’s having pain from gas I would think that’s fine!

Mine doesn’t always burp from breast feeding from the boob and that’s totally fine! Breast milk from the bottle he usually will but if baby is asleep like that I wouldn’t. You do usually want them at an angle to eat a bottle though so idk about having him laying down for a bottle feed.

I always try to burp when feeding baby from a bottle, even when she does fall asleep just to prevent any possible tummy issues and discomfort. especially if your baby “clicks” while drinking from the bottle because that means they break their latch and are intaking air (not saying yours is but just in case). if they’re tired enough they’ll sleep through it and burp in their sleep and be just fine. i, personally, don’t recommend bottle feeding while laying down. i have done it once before, but think of it like you laying flat and someone is making you drink something with zero control over the intake. that can be very uncomfortable. upright pace feeding is usually the best method. no judgement from me though, just what i’ve experienced as a first time mom. :)

if they’re tired enough they’ll sleep through your partner burping them and burp in their sleep***

You shouldn’t need to burp a baby after 4/6 months old anyway, so he should be absolutely fine
