Breastmilk amounts dropping

My 6 week old is combi fed by bottle with breastmilk and formula. We started giving formula as she wanted to feed every 1.5 hours and I could not produce enough breastmilk for this. I try and pump every 5 hours or so as I do not have enough time to sit and pump every 2 hours- previously this was fine and each time I would produce enough milk for 2 feeds but now I'm not even producing enough milk for one feed😭 I've just started my first period after giving birth so I wondered if that would maybe be affecting my supply? I really want to be able to keep giving her some breastmilk feeds ... Help 😭

put her back on the boob. she can get more milk than what you what a pump can. the more often she’s on the boob, your supply will adjust.

@Hannah I should have added, she has a tongue tie which means she can't latch properly at the moment. Feeding from the boob is stressful for us both 😩

You will have to pump more if she’s not on the boob. Get a hands free pump so you don’t have to be stationary when you do it but that’s the only way you’ll get your supply up. Also try power pumping once or twice a day (20 min on 10 min off 10 on 10 off 10 on) that will really help too. This pump is efficient & not outrageously expensive. It does just as well as my spectra. https://a.co/d/8rm2O3m

Power pumping but yes your period can affect your supply. Baby may also become fussier or not take breastmilk by itself when you’re on your period because it also changes the taste (less sweet/more bitter)
