Any third time ( c section mums) hoping for VBAC?

Hey! Third time mum here, I had an emergency c section with my first and a planned section with my second but this time round really open to options.. anyone had experience of a VBAC after 3 sections- im not sure whether it will get approved by the OB or if I can push for it??

I was told yesterday by my midwife if I went for a 2nd section (which I am) & then wanted a 3rd baby (I don’t) it would automatically be a c section, it’s the risk of your uterus rupturing being greater I believe xx

I was told the same as @Terri. Once you have two sections VBAC is basically off the table as it becomes way too risky.

I had a feeling this would be the case but wasn't sure if length between sections would factor in/ scar tissue etc! My midwife told me it could be possible if I felt strongly about it, but I don't have an Consultant appointment for a few weeks - will discuss then!

I’m going for a Vbac after 1 c-section not 2, but having 2 c sections doesn’t necessarily mean you HAVE to have another section. Do some research around uterine rupture, the risk does increase however still is really small. (0.05% chance of happening after 1 caesarean) also have a look at the birth rights website. Your birth would most likely be consultant led but can still be a very safe way of giving birth if that’s what you choose. Also, if it makes any difference I’m a medical professional so not just spouting nonsense haha. Speak to your consultant at your appointment and see how you feel xx

@Misha it’s definitely possible cause they can’t pin you down and give you a C section but the obstetrician I spoke to said they discourage it cause it is risky. Minimal risk after one but increased risk after two. Definitely speak to the consultant if that’s something you’re considering, they can give you all the data and help with making a decision
