At my wits end with potty training
My son is obviously 3 and still not trained. He has zero interest in trying. He refuses to sit on the potty or toilet and constantly moans to be put in a nappy. Its now getting to me mentally cause some people are not kind that we've still not cracked it. We've been trying for over a year and nothing works. I've tried bribes, bare hum but he refused to not have pants on, sitting him on potty every 20 minutes for him to have a meltdown and not wee, to then wet himself a minute or so later. Its really upsetting for us all and I feel like I've failed him 😔

Hey you're not alone. My son will not poo in the potty or toilet. I asked him why he felt he couldn't do it and he said he doesn't know. Also tried all kinds of positive reinforcement, books etc. Tried potty training him with pants one weekend and I just figured he wasn't ready physiologically as he wasn't even able to hold on pee for 30 minutes sometimes and he wouldn't tell us when he was about to poo. He's really smart but there is just a barrier that he doesn't want to cross right now so we're not going to pressure him. He will want to do it one day. Don't listen to the haters. You are not failing. Stay strong 😊

Hi, we have tried 3 times and this week we finally “cracked” it, my daughter was just ready for it as I didn’t do anything different to the other two times. We did bare bum for 2 days, then just pants and then with leggings on. She started saying I need the toilet and just does it. Sorry, no advice as such but lots of solidarity x
