May I ask what caused your prem birth before? For me my waters went 22wks with my preemie , We managed to hold on till 24wks , he's now 3yrs old ! In my experience you'll more than likely be considered high risk - Due to your previous prem experience, So if in the UK.... you'll possibly be consultant lead and you'll be put into the pre term clinic, where you'll have cervical scans in my experience. I had them from 16wks gestational every 2wks up untill 34wks. I will say at 21wks my cervix was opening, So I had a cervical stitch put in at 21wks and removed at 37wks ( there still is the risk that waters can break ) , there is also a pessery option which you insert daily in your lady garden 😉🤣, luckily I carried till 39wks.... 💜 I hope this information was useful for you x

I'm in Canada, I was told by my last OB that for my second pregnancy, whenever that may be that I would be considered high risk. I started labouring and my water broke a 25 weeks. I talked to her about it at my 6 week pp appointment. Basically, after labour my blood work showed signs of preeclampsia, even though there was nothing before the labour, no HBP or anything. So I was told once a viable pregnancy is confirmed (8 weeks) I'd be with the high risk clinic at our children's hospital, by 12 weeks I'd have to have aspirin, and a vaginal suppository meant to prevent labouring early again.

You maybe offered progesterone pessary’s (I have those from 20 weeks to 34 weeks) to prevent early labour due to a short cervix (I had this in both my pregnancies.)

@Elle (i can't see waves) i don't know what caused it. My waters randomly broke at 28 weeks and gave birth at 29 weeks. Might have been due to stress. Thank you for the info ladies, so helpful x

Yeahh like me spontaneous, Although a few years ago prior i had a lletz procedure as I had abnormal cells on my cervix , So i had some removed,,, so that could have been my issue - Also my old boss at work was a bitch and caused me stress - i was a dinner lady at the time and she insisted I still left heavy things.... even after my risk assessment said not too! I quit my job after that lol x

Following as I went into labour at 36+4 weeks with my daughter x

My first arrived when labour started at 28 weeks, there was no known reason for it. My second arrived at 37 weeks - it was just luck there was nothing I did that made any difference

My first was a 28 weeker, I had a pre conception appointment before trying for my second with my consultant and we went through my birth and what happened and why and what could be done to prevent it happening again - could you see if they offer this? I’m now 32 weeks with a 92nd centile baby with no signs of him coming early!

@Katy congratulations! Who did you contact / how did you get the pre conception appointment?

I contacted my obstetrics/ antenatal consultant from my first baby through her secretary and it just so happened she was the one who did the pre conception clinics, it was really informative and she has followed me closely through this pregnancy too x
