Calpol is a good pain relief for babies and children

@Madison I agree but I've been reading some very negative things about it saying it contains alot e numbers etc just wondering if anyone else thought so.. I've always used it.

It’s absolutely fine and been used for children for a very long time

@Donna Woods this is what I thought I mean I'm a 80s baby an sure my parents used with me an I seem ok.thanks maybe shouldn't believe everything I read online 🙂

Calpol is fine, it's Nurofen you want to be careful with.

Ohhhh only this morning I saw this lady rabbiting on about calpol being sooo bad on instagram!!! She bored me .... honestly none of my kids have ever become hyper on calpol ffs!..... Obviously each to their own, they seriously wouldn't put products on the market of they was that dangerous to kids! There's alot of scaremongering online xx

You can get colour free calpol so less e numbers and sugar free BuT some people say sugar free is worse than sugar so you can't win really 🤣 xx

You can get a sugar-free one if you are worried x

E numbers are just codes for food additives. People assume all E-number are bad but they range from completely natural and healthy to synthetic and controversial. E122 is a particular e number that was more controversial in Calpol, I believe they don’t use it any more, at least not in the UK. Besides that, calpol uses parabens which have a bad rep, but unless your child takes calpol every day for years, the amounts are tiny and not something you need to worry about. Internet will have you scared of breathing if you believe everything, especially on social media that uses “shock content” to increase engagement and make more ££ I try to avoid medication if it’s not necessary simply because all meds can have side effects, but if my baby is in pain he will have something to help him.

To add to the above, paraben use is strictly controlled in the UK and EU

The ones it does contain are for flavouring and colouring. You can buy colourless Calpol though. Although as an adult who had to take dissolved paracetamol for a long time I really wouldn't recommend flavourless 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 I use it, it's like magic for babies and I'm not one to have an aversion to giving it either because if she's in pain she's in pain! I'd also use Nurofen but haven't used that yet as she is small for her age so we haven't been able to until very recently.
