😢 am I being dramatic?

I dropped my daughter off at the gym day care this morning, we’ve been doing so well she gets a little nervous but doesn’t cry anymore. But today about 15 mins into my workout they called saying that my daughter had been crying for over 10 minutes and kept saying “mommy” and they tried everything to get her to calm down. It made me so sad for her. She’s like literally never cried that long ever in her whole life. She was SOOO upset when I got there. The girl said it was super busy like 20+ kids so I think she was a little over stimulated. Idk now I don’t even want to take her back I just feel sooooo bad I literally cried it broke my heart how sad she was. 😭

I wouldn’t say you’re being overdramatic, but its also good to steel yourself for the tantrums and full body crying you’re going to get very soon when she learns she won’t get everything she wants 😅 I would keep taking her back, I’m sure she was just overstimulated

I'm so sorry and I completely understand. I would feel the same. Can you go when there are fewer people there? Like at 2 pm on a Tuesday or something?

@Ashlyn I feel like that’s different tho. This was her missing me not about not getting her way. @Marie ugh I wish! The hours are limited to mornings where I go, so that’s why it can get busy I think.

@Ashlyn exactly! They don't know how to regulate their emotions yet so their reaction is not going to necessarily match the situation. It sucks seeing our babies sad, but that's just how is going to be for a while lol

Can you stay there with her for a little while so she adjust before going to workout?

Maybe a smoother transition could help

@Marie yeah I think I might try that in a few days. I’m just afraid to take her back now. lol.

I totally understand! If I were you I would go, knowing that you may come back home without having worked out. You go with the main goal of her feeling well there. You go, you chill with her in the play area. If she feels good, great! Go workout. If she's OK, but not great, stick around with her so she gets used to the place. You do that a few times and maybe one day you will be able to go workout no problem. Sometimes they just need to take it slow. It's a big adjustment for our Littles one
