Moving in cot

What’s normal? My husband gets so anxious if the baby start shuffling around. He always thinks the baby’s clearly not in the best state of sleep if she keeps moving around and rushes up to pass her dummy or check on her. I see it as self settling and her getting comfortable. This would be rubbing eyes, swaying her head, leg slams (sometimes), looking for dummy. I don’t think I keep still throughout the night so why would our baby stay perfectly still?

Most likely very normal especially in a baby. In a toddler extreme restlessness during sleep could indicate low iron but that doesn’t sound like what you’re describing.

God, if you rush up every time she moves, you will never sleep again. They are noisey at the best of times, but learning to self settle is a lot of head wobbling, sucking on hands, leg banging. I only go up if eyes are open and she cries sometimes they sleep cry at watch out for that too 😅

They are still learning to move between the different sleep cycles. She is not awake if she is shuffling a bit or making sounds. He is the one risking to wake her up by engaging with her if not needed (of course, I don't mean that if she is fully awake or upset). Plus as you say, babies aren't dolls so they won't be still for 3h straight 😀

They are so noisy and move so much!!! We only went in if she was like actively upset and awake
