What is Your Experience with an ECV, mainly did it work??

Baby is breeched at 35w5 and my provider wants to do an external cephalic version (ECV). Was it painful? Did it work??

not me but my friend just had a successful one. she said it was a little uncomfortable but not bad.

Breath through it like if you were in labor and try to relax as much as possible as they are pushing. They did 3 trust for me with about 20 seconds each try, so it's for a short time. I felt beat up and bruised afterwards. Mine wasn't successful, but I was glad I tried.

@Ava did you end up having a c section then since baby wouldn’t flip?

Yes I did have a C-section at 40weeks for breech presentation

@Melanie that’s how my son is on the ultrasound today. Feet to face. Did you have a c section?

Ah, yes I did. Seems like they actually didn't realize she was frank breech until she was born 🥴 Did you doctor recommend one?

@Melanie if I am unable to get him to flip then yeah she recommends one. He’s already measuring 3 weeks ahead (I’m 35w5) and so she really doesn’t want me pushing my due date.

That makes sense. Ava gave really good advice, I'm not sure how the odds are for Frank breeches vs the others with an ECV but no matter what way it goes you'll at least be able to say you tried

@Melanie wow my daughter was also born like that - had a c section because she was breech. I was worried but within 5-10 mins she stretched her legs out 😅

@Umreen wow that's quick! I remember my daughter's legs were like that for a few days. The nurses would walk in and be like we got a breech baby haha
