feelings

When was having feelings not okay? I get it, but children’s aid takes it way out of pocket. They will try and make it seem like you’re a bad mom when 1 day out of months or even years you get frustrated.. any comments?

I think that it can be beneficial for kids to see us frustrated instead of us pretending not to have emotions because then if we mess up: we apologize and say what we should have done instead and we try to model that next time so they learn that making mistakes is okay. Having emotions is okay but we can all work on our coping mechanisms. The only time I’d get concerned is if it’s a regular occurrence and I’d say someone should be in therapy or have an adult to chat with to help get out some of the big emotions. Raising kids isn’t for the weak ❤️ give yourself some grace Think about all the times you didn’t get frustrated. If your average is 50% or higher you’re doing great. If it’s less than maybe some self-reflection and reading some books or getting extra resources will help immensely

Having feelings is fine. How you are expressing those feelings might be the issue here.
