Breastfeeding

HELP MAMA!! Hey guys I am currently breastfeeding my 3 week old- the first 1.5 weeks was a nightmare as my LG was tongue tied. This has now been snipped and feeding is a lot better. My LG latches really well on the left and causes me no issue but the right… oh my word!! The pain. It looks like she is latched perfectly but my goodness my nipple is stinging like hell when she feeds. I’ve tried every feeding position and taking her off and re trying to latch but it makes no difference. She always try’s to pull away to just grab the nipple. Any advice?!

My son did have difficulty on one over the other but didn’t necessarily ever pull on me during feedings. Anytime I was feeling irritated on either side I would use nipple butter cream. I’ve felt like nipple butter cream helped my breastfeeding journey a lot because I didn’t feel much of the hurting, stinging, and sometimes itchiness from breastfeeding. I fed my son from the tap till he was 8 1/2 months old, I wish I could’ve went longer but my job kept me from it sadly😕

Ask for triple nipple cream if you have scabs it’s a god send

Could you have a blocked duct? My nipple alwags gets really painful when I get a blockage. Might be worth asking your health advisor for some advice. Good luck!

I'm only a week in but I did a lot of damage in the first 2 days so am now using a nipple shield, which is helping with the pain and recovery.

I was like this for the first 2 weeks. I brought silver cups and expressed a bit of milk and left them over my nibble in 5 hours they healed. I got them of Amazon! X
