BF in public

I have gone out with my son and I have tried feeding him with a cover on, but it’s so hot. How have you ladies been able to navigate breast-feeding in public and being comfortable without a cover? I don’t want him to get too hot under a cover, especially since it’s only going to be getting warmer with summer on the way.

I never used a cover. I wore a nursing cami under all of my shirts and would just open the clasp and lift my shirt. I never had a bad encounter.

I was shy until one day it was just inescapable. I had to choose between public opinion and my baby- not much of a choice really. We were in the middle of Foodie Land! After doing it there, I felt like anywhere was possible. Fortunately, my husband has always been very supportive and I’ve mentally rehearsed my responses to any negative comments a million times in my mind.

I will say, I use nursing shirts mostly, but that day I totally wasn’t thinking and just had a regular t shirt. With the nursing shirts it’s no problem for me now.
