I don't have any experience but just wanted to say I am too having a section today and feeling nervous! We've got this 🥰 maybe try to keep busy and distract yourself with whatever you enjoy doing until it's go time. Wishing you all the best x
I had a c section last Thursday and I was terrified as I’ve never been in hospital before, I can honestly say it was the most calm day. I didn’t even know they had started until I heard my baby cry. Once they give you the baby nothing else matters and the 40 mins or so that they take to stitch you up feels like seconds as you’re starring at your new baby 🥹 I’m now currently on the night feed shift with my 1 week old baby girl and don’t need to take painkillers anymore!💕 Good luck!!
I had mine last Wednesday and it was such a positive experience! The anaesthetist and midwife kept me completely informed and reassured when there was a complication during the procedure, and I was still able to have skin to skin while they finished everything up. Recovery has been easier than I expected, I was able to stop taking the codeine after 3 days and have been coping fine with ibuprofen/paracetamol. The worst pain was from constipation rather than the section itself! Good luck and congratulations on meeting your little bubba in just a few hours! ❤️
Had mine 4 weeks a go today and was so nervous! But it was amazing!! Would do it all again 🫶 good luck and congratulations
I had a c section due to anxiety causing my heart rate/blood pressure to be too high. It honestly went so smoothly. They talk you through every step of the way and it’s over so quickly. I went in at 1pm I had the spinal at 1:15 and by 1:28my son was born. I was wheeled out and into recovery by 1:45 just make sure you note down your meds (there’s quite alot) and keep on top of them even if you feel fine. I was up washing dishes the next day 😂 they say day 4 is meant to be quite tough pain wise but for me it was just like having cramps. Make sure you have peppermint tea soon as you can as it will help with trapped wind. Hope all goes well xx
I also have mine today so sending loads of love 💕 it will be my second and the first was such a calm experience 🫶🏻 x
I had an elective c-section yesterday and honestly cannot speak highly enough about it. The whole experience was wonderful and very positive compared to my first child's birth which ended as an emergency c-section. Wishing you all the best for today. You're going to meet your baby ❤
You got this Momma! You will the strength from somewhere. This is from a fellow c section mother who had very low pain intolerance. My advice is to think, its just a process, trust the hospital staff and have that image of you holding your baby the main focus. I personally asked the staffs to get on with it and dont tell me running comentary of what they were doing during the CS. Its a very quick process. :)
I had a c section a month ago, and as much as I was terrified it went well. The whole team were amazing, and explained everything throughly, ask any questions you have even if they’re stupid. Also concentrate on your breathing throughout to keep calm, think about how much closer you’re getting to meeting your baby. My husband played music for me which also helped. In terms of recovery take your time, once you can walk, try and walk as much as you can. You’ve got this💪🏾
I had a C Section for my first child, it was a really positive experience. Everyone was very patient and understanding and letting someone else be in control of the whole thing for me was actually really reassuring as they know exactly what they doing and have done it a million times, compared to me who had no idea how to birth a baby.
I had mine 17 days ago, everyone made me feel so calm and was a lovely positive experience, have you got a playlist ready on your phone? My own music in theatre really did help! Good luck and congratulations 😊
I had mine 19 days ago and it was by far the best experience I’ve had. The first time I had an emergency with my son and the experience was awful compared to my elective this time.. was so calm and everyone is so reassuring and keep you updated throughout!! Xx
@Charly had mine 4 weeks ago today too ☺️ @Natalie it was the best decision I made to have an elective section after having a traumatic labour with my first baby. It was such a calm and relaxed experience, and honestly it’s over so quickly! I had my own music playing in theatre, and the surgeon was even singing along as he was stitching me back up 😅 my advice would be to accept as much help as you can while you’re recovering and make sure to keep on top of pain meds for as long as you need. Good luck! 👶🏼
I had mine 2.5 weeks ago. The csection was stress free and relaxed. Recovery has been good so far and just can't lift my toddler or walk too much. I chose to have one as I had an emergency with my first so knew what i was going into. Recovery wise - day 1 to 5 was the hardest and then by day 6 and 7 I was able to sleep better and was up and about in the house a little more. Keep on top of pain meds and take it easy, don't rush into getting back on your feet. Xx

thank you so much everyone! Noah made his arrival at 11:07am🥹it went so fast and it was such a lovely experience. Just on the recovery ward atm enjoying our new bubble🩵
I had an induction on Sunday that ended in emcs. I was terrified of the thought of a section all the way through pregnancy. Bearing in mind I was under general anaesthetic when I was taken down, I can't speak on the experience being fully awake, but I've had a really positive experience with the section itself. Nowhere near as painful as I was expecting, I'm up and about the house as much as possible, healing really well and overall have a completely different outlook on sections as a whole. My next will be an elective, I'd love to experience it all awake so I can welcome my baby into the world with my partner! Just remember that the nerves and fear are normal, but that doesn't mean the experience will be hard or negative. Take some deep breaths and try focusing on the fact that when you see your little one, nothing else matters in that moment, it's just you, baby and all the love in the world. ♥️ Good luck, I hope it's the experience you want and that recovery goes well for you.
@Natalie congratulations 💙 wishing you a speedy recovery xx
I had an awful failed induction but everything about my c section went smoothly! You’ve got this mama
