My 3 year old is constantly rubbing her bits, health visitor said it’s just a comfort thing and it’s totally normal. My worry is she’s doing it all the time, like if I let her shed do it all day, she’s actually hurting herself now. We’re awaiting appointments for autism and adhd. I think I’m going to contact my health visitor again regarding it. Just wondered if anyone else was in the same boat ?
Hi, not with my own child but I work with ASD/LD children and it is completely normal. We try and suggest that they go to a private space to touch their genitals and be clear that it isn't appropriate in shared spaces. You could try distraction if she's hurting herself or clothes she can't get into. Tricky one, good luck!
