About incident form in nursery

Hi 1 year old got his nose hurt and it was bleeding but now it is ok just the mark is there. He went to nursery yesterday and today they ask me to fill incident form. Is this a procedure or they are going to do something about it? I was really scared

Was this an at home incident? Nursery often ask you to fill in a form so they can’t be blamed for the mark/injury

Yes it's at home.

Yes they tend to get you to do paperwork to say where it was done if it was outside of their setting so you can’t say it was done that and complain basically. They’re covering their backs when it comes to injurys out side of the setting x

Yep a home incident form it totally normal. We’ve had to complete a few, for various cuts and grazes: it’s to mainly to cover the nursery’s back saying that your son hurt his nose at home and not at nursery.

Ok thank you everyone It was so relieving 😀😀

Yes totally normal, my sons been off for the Easter break.... he fell over at home ans has a scar that's healing..... I still has to fill a form out .... it is a bit annoying but at the same time it's good practice for safe guarding etc x

Yes, worked in nurseries and asked many times. Just to cover themselves. It's all good hope your little ones OK x

Yes he is fine just bruise which will heal with time

My daughter’s nursery always does this if she has an accident at home! I believe it’s just to cover their backs in case someone tries to day it happened at the nursery! I’ve never had anything come of them before! Xx
