My daughter has been the same she is 2.4years too. We looked it up and it seems to be night terrors and one of the reasons mentioned for it happening was possible over tiredness so they aren’t reaching the deepest part of sleep to stay down for longer. We pick her up earlier from nursery so we can start the night time routine earlier which has helped! Good luck!
Sounds like it! When I worked in a daycare, there was a boy who had REALLY bad night terrors, even during nap. So I did a lot of research. I read that if they have one it’s important to kinda treat it like sleep walking. You do NOT want to wake them up. It’ll make them even more hysterical. It’s best to softly talk them through it with things like “you’re ok, you’re safe, I’m here” until the episode passes. Which is SO hard 😅 bc you just want to pick them up and soothe them.
I've just done a post about my little boy, who is going to be 3 in a few days & how his night terrors are really bad at the moment as well 😔
My daughter has them. It’s tough. She’s a very active dreamer, so most night even if it’s not a night terror, she talks in her sleep and wakes herself up. But when it’s a night terror, it’s different. Absolutely histerical and she usually pushes us away, thrashes her body around screams at my husband and I, but she’s not actually awake witch just breaks my heart 😢
Sounds like it! Typically we just ride it out and she can normally go right back to sleep once it’s done
Depending on how spiritual you are, you could also pray about this. It’s known that children can see things that we as adults can’t and sometimes it can be terrifying. You can pray for the child for peaceful sleep. As a Christian mom, I would pray for protection over my child in the name of Jesus. ❤️
Sounds like it! We had it for a few months around this age exactly
