Dummy - to get rid?

Had anyone got rid of the dummy? It defiantly has its uses but it’s causing wake ups in the night and she needs her dummy putting back in. I don’t know if it’s a sign to try and get rid. 😊

I’m having the same problem with my little girl she wakes multiple times a night spitting out her dummy then crying for it. X

@Eimear I swear my little girl throws her dummies out the cot too so I have to get up and give it back. She does go back off to sleep which is good, but the disturbed sleep is so tiring! X

We have this issue so I now leave 3/4 spread in the cot 🤣

@Natalie it really is exhausting. My little girl cries for it without waken fully but once I put it back in she back into a sleep. We are going to try give dummy going asleep and remove it once she’s asleep as it’s a mayor problem during the night. X

We got rid of it a couple of months ago, it took a few nights of tears but no more exhausting than getting up to put it back in anyway. My first had hers until 2.5 years for sleep and it was so much harder the older she was 😢 At 2.5 years it was affecting her teeth with an open bite, now she hasn’t had it for 6 months her teeth have realigned x

@Shenel yeah I think for the sake of a few bad nights it worth it. I wanted to take it before 2 anyway because of teeth/speech issues. I think I just need to be brave and go for it! My first born used one but spat it out after 10 mins and would sleep through so was an issue! X

@Shenel I don’t know if you have the same issue with your older child… but my older girl is FOREVER stealing the dummy too… it’s chaos 🤣 x

I went cold turkey when she was around 6 months old couple of unsettled nights then was fine. My eldest was 2 years old and it was soooooo much harder defo get rid ASAP would be my advice, especially with their constant cold xx

Have you tried the glow in the dark ones ? We had this problem but once she knew she could find it herself it resolved her sleep massively she will just grab it herself and settle back down. X

@Sharon yeah sadly doesn’t make a difference. Sadly the dummies always end up outside the cot! 😩

@Natalie I purposely got rid of the babies first for exactly this reason 😂 little pickle x

She’s gone all day with no dummy and bed time was a success… cried for 60 seconds when I left and she went to sleep! 🤞🏼 thank you everyone for the encouragement! X
