Help

I’m at my wits end. My daughter turned 2 this Feb and the older she gets the more apparent it is that she’s definitely on the higher functioning side of things. We’ve been working on identifying emotions since she was a few months old and she does really well in terms of verbal communication but I cannot deal with the meltdowns. I’ve tried holding her, rocking her, talking to her, trying calming exercises like breathing or stomping and clapping. Idk what else I can be doing to help her. This is all even without a diagnosis. Don’t even get me started on that😭

Have you tried a quiet corner, a little area she can go to feel safe with cuddly toys maybe some books, calming lights and sensory bits, her favourite things. I’m not sure if this’ll help but I’ve seen that it does help some kids. Nonetheless I hope you find something to help!

I feel like we are dealing with the same. It is so hard. The meltdowns are getting so much worse and she cannot be comforted or distracted. 💔
