First preganncy

Currently 39+4, no signs of labour approaching at all! Although I am aware baby will come when ready I wanna know if anyone had labour start out of no where and progressed fairly quickly? Or is there more likely to be a gradual build up of signs and symptoms? So thankful for a low risk and comfortable pregnancy so far can’t wait to meet little one when they are ready for the world!

Yes mine did at 40+ 3, now nearly 3 weeks pp. FTM. I just woke in the morning to my waters breaking & cramps started straight away - I had my baby under 24 hours. And progressed very quickly through the dilation process. Mine was low risk pregnancy- did water birth up until 10cm and natural gas & air then after 2 hours of pushing baby head got stuck & I became higher risk -rushed into theatre for forceps delivery, lost over 2L blood from a 4th degree tear. Be prepared the unpredictable may happen at any time & trust your instincts 🙏🏻

i had my first baby august 2021. i had no signs or symptoms of labour approaching at all, no loss of mucus plug, no bloody show, nothing. and then i woke up at 12:40am on my due date (after only being asleep for 20 minutes haha) and my waters had broken which is why i woke up. 5 minutes later i started contracting, and then he was born at 8:48am (so it was around 8 hours in total from waters breaking to being born) so it was completely out of the blue, but luckily it was a quick labour so not too bad! Xxx

I had no real symptoms until 40+3, constant braxton hicks in the morning, bloody show a few hours later, then the contractions started and just got progressively worse! My waters broke 13 hours later and he was born 2 hours after that x

With my first baby I had no signs at all and then at 38 weeks I woke up and my waters broke in a huge gush. Contractions started mildly that day, ramped up over night, baby born at 11am next day, so just over 24 hours after waters broke. This time round though my waters didn’t break until I was in active labour, so my first signs were contractions starting (baby arrived about 10 hours after first contractions)
