@Amber my girl would be on 3 meals a day already 🤣 I am happy to continue food is fun until 1 rule. Even if she does love food.
I'm not sure how it works once on solids, also looking to start next week. However my LO has always been formula Fed and currently on 4 to 5 bottle of 7oz, the 5th bottle is only if she keeps up for a night feed. Which she had dropped, so we did 4 bottles of 7oz for a while and she was fine. With solids I'm planning to keep to the same bottles and add in Porridge 1st in between one of the feds and make the bottle before or after 5oz. And see how she gets on.
My LO has 4 8oz bottles a day, 6 months next week too ☺️ she also sleeps through roughly same times, we've just the last few days started her on some purée in-between the last 2 bottles 😌
@Incog same I've been giving him a teaspoon of puree a day for first tastes and he would have happily finished the pouch today if I let him 🤣
@Amber yeah a teaspoon was never enough. I have been given her milk and then 1 hr later a small amount of puree. The first couple of days she only had a couple of spoonfuls but that was only because it was all I would let her have. By the 3rd day she was shouting at me for not having the next the spoon ready for her in time. Still sticking to small amounts though 1 hr after milk so she only needs a little bit.
@Ashleigh yea she has milk around 4 and then puree at around 5 and then milk again around 7 and 9.30 but I am assuming with moving her over to formula fully this will look different. Just not sure how. We just moved up to 7 oz bottle over the last few days as she hasn't been satisfied with the 5 we were on so I offered her the extra a couple of times and she was happy. Luckily we are using premades at the moment as we were only doing like 1 bottle a day so the 2oz was ready to go. We did 7oz bottles today 2 formula and 1 BM and she was much happier about her feeds she a breast feed at 7am, 7pm and and I just did a dream feed as she was down at 7.30pm tonight so I could have a bath (she won't sleep for her dad). I will be reducing BF feeding down from next week. So I'm thinking of introducing something around breakfast time. As she has milk at 7am so she could have something for breakfast at 8.30/9 before she then naps at 10ish.
@Priscah I think I might look of the stage 2 formula to see what that says on as that might be a rough guide to follow as the expectation on those would be whike introducing food.
Ive been anxious to increase the amounts quickly but then I feel like once he's had enough he will let me know? It's been so long since I weaned my older two I can't remember much, I do remember just giving my daughter food we were eating that she could hold in her fist straight away so I might try that in a couple of weeks instead of keeping on with purees
That's true I didn't think of FTM here🤣... I'm anxious about starting solids, they say start with 1 food for the first month but I have hard other people going in with different options. To see what the baby likes.
Following because I'm wondering the same. Although when I spoke to my HV recently she said that their guidance has changed and they're now pushing to have babies on 3 meals a day as soon as they will happily tolerate it rather than milk as their main source of nutrients. I kinda side eyed her on that one ngl but I dunno 🤷🏻♀️
