Pains and epidural

Don’t know how everyone’s finding their postnatal recovery still but I feel like for me it has gotten worse. I had the epidural and at first the back pain wasn’t that bad but it’s gotten to the point I can’t walk my dog, have my baby in s carrier and I can’t sit in certain positions anymore because I have pain and it’s uncomfortable. Going to go to the GP to get a referral for physio but just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, my joints in general also just feel so much weaker and hurt more since giving birth

I have this too, mainly the aches and pains over my body especially when I get out of bed in the morning. I had an emergency c-section and have been struggling with my back recently when I’ve been holding my little girl but I just put this down to her getting heavier, didn’t think about what I had put in my back before surgery! X

I am waiting for my referral for physio also. I have been having back pains ever since the epidural, it’s like a stabbing pain every time I lay on my back, I can only lay on my side and sometimes that’s even painful.

I hadn’t actually thought about the impact of an epidural until you just mentioned this. I feel like I have back pain regularly, but just thought it was the carrying and lifting. I did have twinges like nerve shocks for the first several weeks but they stopped. The joints thing I also have, but I’ve been putting that down to the weight gain and increased inactivity following late pregnancy/recovery from c-section. X

I haven't had an epidural as I had an emergency C-section under general anaesthetic but I also experience back pain and aching knees mostly. I think most of it is due to bad posture, especially when breastfeeding and also holding baby so much because she loves being in our arms. The recovery can be long. 😞 x
