Changing (diaper and clothes) is so hard now!

It’s become so hard for me to change my baby’s diaper or clothes without some sort of wrestle. I will keep toys he really likes near the changing table to try to distract him, but that’s not as interesting as moving around. I end up changing him in the crib because it feels safer but so difficult. Anyone struggling with this? What worked for you?

I give him something that he thinks he's not allowed to have. A hairbrush, a tin of baby bum cream, a random knickknack. He gets obsessed

Like wrestling an alligator 😩

I strap him down. Lol. He'll still try to roll but it helps a lot. I also agree with @Annie . Give him something he "can't" have its so distracting he doesn't care about the change.

I try to give my daughter toys and clothes to play with, but the same, she hates it. I change her in her crib at night time and and during the day if she gets too wild I have someone hold her arms down lightly and sing to her. She now only wears clothes when we leave the house 😂. The constant struggle to put them on and take them off, and sometimes she'll try and take them off herself. I feel your pain, it'll get better eventually

I make him sounds and faces if the toys don’t work and I try to be as fast as I can or I give him some of my kitchen utensils I bought the small silicone ones from the dollar tree just for him

Spu da and faces work most of the time here. Also standing changes. I do everything except for the final diaper cinching standing. My first was the really good at putting hands on my shoulder for changes. This one just free stands, but squats alot and makes it a bit harder for the diaper so I have to lay him down at the end to just readjust that

I give my little one something to distract him (clean diaper, wipe pack, my hair scarf).

Omg yesssssss this is one has been the most difficult..the hubby will refuse to help because he’s not having it … I’ve had t Resort to even him a snack 🙈🤭

Not great advice but we love an active and adventurous baby! Definitely have my fair share of standing and changing him hunched over. What seems to work for me is giving random things I find around the house that he rarely plays with. He also really enjoys his dropper for his teething drops to just suck on and play with. I wonder if something light up or that sang a song would help at all? We also just tried giving him his toothbrush to play with while changing his diaper and putting pj’s on. Seemed to work well but we’ll see how long it lasts!

OMG YES. The struggle is real..ever since she was crawling at 7/8 months it’s been hit or miss on how much she doesn’t like her diaper changed and right now we’re in “how dare you change my diaper, who do you think you are I will not stay down for a new one” so rough!!

Sometimes changing her on the floor is The only way I can, at least if she rolls away she can’t get hurt. Oh and I change her shirts with her sitting up.
