When should baby start day time sleep in dark room?

Seen so many conflicting views about when babies should sleep in dark environments for nap time. My little one is 7 weeks and not sure when it's best to start this as I read by 8 weeks, their hormonal melatonin starts reducing.

My boy is 6 weeks and sleeps in whatever room during the day. I have found a room that is not too light helps, but he is not bothered.

All day sleeps in day light plus I do usual noisy stuff around so baby is not scared of it and don’t need tip toe around. If you put in the dark room I guess baby will get wrong associations plus you should stay in the same room all the time.

I’ve never heard of this either, my 6 week old will sleep through the day but I don’t make the room dark, Il hoover etc around her to get her used to it.. come night time when she’s in her next to me I then have the lights off to try get her used to it x

I’ve never heard of this and wouldn’t bother, better to get them used to napping in any environment, my 2 year old will sleep anywhere and through anything now

I was wondering this last week. I was worried about day night confusion but ultimately when I tried to put my LG to sleep downstairs she just kept looking around, getting stimulated and finally overtired (she's 8 weeks). So I now put her to sleep in a dark room, then go downstairs when she's in a deep sleep. She was able to fall asleep anywhere when she was a few weeks old but she just can't now. And I'm fairly confident she knows the difference between night and day now so am doing what works for us :)
