It depends on the brand/where you get them. I've only been going for 100% organic cotton and read reviews 1st to try and ensure that they're soft and good quality. I believe pure bamboo is also meant to be soft too. I've heard the tutti bambino organic cellular blanket is good, but it hasn't arrived yet so I haven't tested it x
Good I’m not the only one feeling like this. Hopefully someone gives us some tips
From my experience they get softer after a few washes - particularly muslins. I had some from Asda for my daughter and they felt rough before I washed them, but after a few washes, especially if you tumble dry them, they do soften up.
I love the next Muslin squares, there about £13 for 4 but there amazing!! My little boy is 16 months old and still has the ones from when he was a newborn. There 100% worth the money. I’ve tried asda, Tescos, primark, matalan and they weren’t soft. My little boy who’s due in April will only have next ones this time xxxx
Thank you! Very useful
After washing and drying they'll get softer, however on baby number 4 now and my favourite muslins are "muslinz" they are thick, good size and last for years!!!
@Sophie thanks they look a decent price too
They are! We use them for everything, even now my 2 year old likes them as cool blankets on holiday for naps x
I really like the M&S ones, they’re soft and wash really well xx
I’ve got some muslins from Sainsbury’s which are quite soft (softer than Asda at least), I imagine the more expensive the brand the softer they’ll probably be 😂. I’m still on the hunt for a soft cellular blanket. I got some Asda ones and they are SO rough so we just use them as emergency blankets
