Maternity Pads

I am 31+4 weeks pregnant and I am packing my hospital bag. I am really confused regarding maternity pads. Seen some pads which can be used separately with maternity pants and some which comes as a combo. Which one do you think is recommended. Also seeing some expensive ones like Frida mom essential kit which costs around 44. Which ones have you got?

I’ve just bought Asda’s own maternity pads to stick in my knickers, no idea what’s best though!

I used tenna lady pants for my first for the first day or two then used sanitary towels, plan to do the same this time round

At my recent NCT class they recommended maternity pads over sanitary pads as the blood/clot consistency is different so they’re more equipped to deal with the birth aftermath! They’re generally bigger too because it’ll be heavier than a period. I think they recommend them as sanitary pads don’t allow for you to monitor how much blood loss there is as well to check you’re not losing too much! Heard the Lillet pads are good so I’ve bought some of those and also done disposable underwear for the first week when it’s at its heaviest to put with 😅

I bought both maternity pads Lillets and Always incontinence pants and also have Friday disposable underwear so I can put pads in and throw everything

I bought boots own disposable pants for after I’d given birth but soon moved on to Tesco maternity pads. You don’t need the expensive ones. I think they just have cooling things in or something? But I just sprayed some spritz for bits on the pad and I was fine. I don’t even think I spent £44 total for pads/pants after birth never mind just for one pack of things 😂

I have a mix of different things as i have bits left from my 1st. Boots maternity pads pack Always night pads Disposable pants if i have heavy bleeding and ive been gifted frida cooling maternity pads and witch hazel pads. I would highly suggest getting spritz for bits and take to hospital with you x

I loved LILLETS, efficient and light. Before that I bought big Maternity pads frm the Amazon and it was too uncomfortable, I didn’t bleed that much so lillets was great shout after that. Normal Sanitary pad isn’t same as maternity postpartum pads
