Baby Movement - Anterior Placenta

Hi! For those that have or had anterior placenta (AP): What is / was your experience with how much your baby moves at this point in the pregnancy (33 weeks). Did you feel a lot of kicks and whole belly shake such that movements were visible outside? I have AP and not feeling any kicks just delicate movements. I am worried that my baby is not moving as much and as strongly as babies of pregnant influencers I follow, who post videos of their whole bellies shake and the movements of the baby are visible from outside. I would be grateful to hear your experience!

Hi, I have an anterior placenta and this is my second baby. I think all my pregnancies will result in an anterior placenta but anywho I’m 34 weeks and some days are better than others. Most days I’ll hardly feel her move and days like today I can feel her moving nonstop! But as you get closer to your due date it’ll be a lot easier to feel baby. Some days I’m lucky and I’ll visibly see her through my belly, which only happened like once or twice.

This is my second pregnancy with an anterior placenta. I feel like it’s different than with my daughter maybe because baby boy is bigger. I feel him all throughout the day but major movements at night when I’m relaxing. He’s head down right now so when he is kicking I can kind of see some movement but not really… I can feel his feet when I press my stomach it’s very hard… it could be his feet or back idk lol. Movements 100% feel different than with my daughter. I would have to really focus on feeling movements.

With my first, I felt really small movements. Like thumps. And I really had to be paying attention. With this pregnancy (anterior placenta as well) I feel her move a lot. Like any time she's awake I can feel her move. They say the important thing is to learn your babies movements and just pay attention is something changes. I wish I had appreciated how little I could feel my first because with this one, most of the movements are super uncomfy and sometimes painful.

I have a posterior placenta and there are days where I have trouble feeling my girl

My first pregnancy and I'm 33 weeks tomorrow, but I have an anterior placenta too, and she picks and chooses when she wants to kick alot, sometimes I eat sugar for her to move

I'm 32 weeks and have AP. I can feel baby easier on the sides of my belly compared to the top. Some days the movements feel stronger than others but each day I am able to feel something.

Hi there! I had an anterior placenta my first pregnancy and I have a posterior this time around. I could see very little bumps from the outside with the AP. It's wasn't full crazy movements at all. Almost just looked like twitches. This time with a posterior my whole belly moves and changes shape and I can feel body parts of the baby, it's wild! But it's soooo different. I was able to notice a pattern with the AP which helped me stay calm about the movements. Anytime you think there is a chnage in your baby's pattern of movements it's always better to get checked.

I have a posterior placenta and can see movement from the outside but not all the time. Sometimes the movement is more muted. I can only imagine that an anterior placenta would block it even more so what you’re experiencing sounds normal. As others say, you should know what’s normal for your baby at this point and get checked when something changes, but there’s no point in comparing yourself with what others post online.

Thank you all so much! ❤️

@Zacoriah I’m glad to hear this is fairly normal. I’m 35 weeks and some days I hardly feel him and some days I feel him a ton. It’s been so stressful but hearing others are feeling the same way makes me feel better about it.

I have anterior placenta and some days I can feel her move and other days she doesn’t move much. I feel her more on the sides but my whole belly doesn’t move. 35weeks on Saturday.

I have had a couple "pops" where I saw a little outside movement, like there was a hard jab in that spot, but most is more internal. I'm 32 weeks and my husband still hasn't felt him kicking. I feel him regularly but it's nit usually enough to move my stomach.

I'm 35 weeks with AP too and first time mom. Some days I see movement all over my belly and the whole thing shakes. Other days it's just some jabs here and there and I get nervous.
