Yep all ok, I take them daily all throughout pregnancy and now I'm breastfeeding. I take cetirizine

This is the link my GP sent me https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/wp-content/dibm/2019-09/Hayfever%20and%20breastfeeding.pdf
I asked my gp/pharmacist and they said that you can’t take antihistamines whilst breastfeeding. Though if it’s gets really bad they can apparently prescribe something for it. 🥲 I’m also a bad sufferer!
Do some research on which ones you’d take! I took Allegra and Claritin and my milk supply dropped very quickly! Took me weeks to get it back up!
Yes you can take antihistamines but it depends on which ones. Even ones I was told were safe for breast feeding would drop my supply instantly. I took Zyrtec every day while pregnant to avoid environmental allergies, and had to stop after delivering. I was warned anything with a decongestant will make milk supply drop more than just regular allergy meds
I had a telephone appointment with the gp about this, they can’t tell you to take any antihistamines as there’s been no studies that show any of them are safe however they said Loratadine and cetirizine pose the least risk but he take take them at your own risk as studies haven’t deemed them 100% safe. He said I would just have to try all the other remedies such as Vaseline up the nose, eye washes and drops, nasal rinses and sprays, keeping windows shut etc etc
Following as I’m also curious about this.
