Does newborn cheeks get saggy if they are up a lot?

MIL was saying if baby is upright too much, or carried straight up often during newborn phase the cheeks get super droopy. Which is kinda strange and contradicting when it’s better to baby wear often to keep baby off from laying on their head so much? Anyone have personal experiences/thoughts to share

I'm sorry, nothing against your MIL personally, but why does this generation come out with such fear mongering nonsense 😭

No, that's ridiculous. Ask your MIL if her cheeks sag because she's upright all the time

This is one of those unsolicited advice things, you have nothing to worry about ❤️ just acknowledge what she said then do your own thing mamma, cuz listen your the mother and you know what's best for your baby. Babys not gonna get saggy/droopy cheeks from holding him up

Absolutely not lol! Xx

That's crazy

That's actually quite funny. Definitely not the case, you have nothing to worry about lovely x

Should of replied “have you ever lay down then?” 😂😂😂

This is laughable that MIL would say that! I’ve never avoided MIL as much as I have in the past 6 months since my LO was born for this exact reason. Stupid remarks and advice which is untrue. I think what’s so funny is they really think their stupid ideas are gospel 😂😂😂 love how we have this group to share these things x

Sounds like something my super ridiculous MIL would say lol

@Emlyn lol I literally told my husband this when he told me that this could happen

Peoples faces get saggy when they’re 40 odd due to gravity working on their face for 40 years, not when they’re a baby 😳

Absolute nonsense

I’m sorry this made me laugh. Absolutely not. Sounds like another tactic to get you to stop bonding with baby. Their cheeks will stay chubby for a few years and they won’t sag until they are adults. Unless they were born with saggy cheeks.

one of the weirdest ways i’ve heard someone justify not holding their babies enough lol
