Frozen colostrum for jabs

Hey everyone. My little boy has his jabs next week. He is formula fed as breastfeeding didn’t work out for us but I have frozen colostrum saved up. I think I’ve seen somewhere that it’s good to give colostrum to help with vaccinations. Could anyone tell me the best way to defrost my colostrum and when is the optimal time to give it? Should I syringe the colostrum into his mouth before and / or after his jabs? Any advice is welcome :)

If your colostrum is in syringes- get it out the freezer about 20 mins before you want to give it. I put the syringe under my boob to warm it up slightly! You could also just mix it in with his formula - I’d have a bottle ready for after the jabs to try and settle him if he’s upset!

You can defrost them in your hands or under running warm water it doesn't take long. Best time to give is immediately before/after jabs as the sweet taste reduces their pain x
