Who cares what they think they’re you children. If you live those names then that’s all that matters mama
I don't think those are weird at all! They give Greek mythology vibes. I love Cassian for a boy. We almost chose it, but when with Caspian instead. Boy: Anders Evander Leander Leonidas Matthias Zephyr Girls: I love Vaughn for a girl! I have a little Vaughn in my class right now, and she's smart, free-spirted, and spunky! Other ideas: Acacia Arcadia Antigone nickname Tiggy Ianthe Keres
Not weird at all, love all those names! We got weird comments too from my husband's family when we named our daughter Evynn. We just told them tough, our kids our choice and we loved it and not changing it no matter their opinion. So they needed to figure out how to wrap their head around it and accept it because if they don't, it could negatively affect their relationship with their grandkids which no one wants, so if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. We ended having to have that conversation about 3x I think to different family but then it passed and never heard a thing about it again and all has been well. Lol at least on that front!
I’ve heard all of them before so no, I wouldn’t say they were ‘weird.’ I’d say unique 😊 my sons name is Iydan which is unique and I don’t like common names 😅
@Katrina I would say they are sort of traditional. It’s not like the family member said it in a rude way, but it still got to me a bit.
@Michelle My husband and I think that too, it’s our child so it doesn’t matter. It still got to me either way. I’m kind of sensitive sometimes, especially since the whole family was going through a loss when this convo happened
@Kaia Elizabeth We modernized his name just a bit and went with Kassian. I’m a huge nerd when it comes to any type of Greek Mythology and my husband will go along with anything as long as it’s not super outlandish 😂😂. We had Evander on our list but chose not too go with it because it didn’t go well with “Vaughn” and our last name in our opinion. I wanted our next son to have my pop pops name since he passed 2 years ago. We also had Harlan, Lennox and Maverick for a boy. For the girls we had Salem, Maeve, Raven, Ivy and Isla.
@Samantha I didn’t say anything because it’s not like they said it in a rude way. We were all going through the loss of a family member just days prior so I think we were all a bit too sensitive and a bit too on edge. I have a great relationship with this family member and they love our son as if it were their own.
@Mal Thats such a cute name. We were kind of thinking ahead when we picked the names. We didn’t want to pick anything too crazy, but we wanted our kids to have powerful names when they become something great.
They are unique but not weird!
@Joy I didn’t think they were weird either, but it never hurts to get some outside opinion sometimes :)
I don't think the names are weird. Sounds like your family might just be really traditional with names.
