I'll sacrifice space for his toys etc to make enough space for it. Camping can be horrible if you're cold/wet. Also if you've never camped with your lo before just camp out in your backyard once to get a feel of how it'll be like.

Collapsible laundry baskets - I use one to store toys (only toys you can wash mega blocks are great) and one for dirty clothes because toddlers live to pull things everywhere. Baskets to put things in, picnic blankets for the ground, kids camping chair. Plenty of clothes as if you’re camping you can’t wash stuff that gets sick/poo on. I brought a foam change mat as his rolly mat, and a wearable big sleeping bag for nighttime’s

The heater is an essential piece of gear when you have a little one. When my son was 5 months old, we started camping together. I can't imagine a night without a heater.

Eye mask and foam earplugs. Torches and decent pillows. Small gazebo in addition to tent to cook underneath if it rains.
