Dilation station (sitting on toilet)

Hey , So I’m 36 weeks, 5 days and when I sit on the toilet to pee or poop I get pressure on my vaginal whole. My baby is head down and has been for atleast a month. Does the pressure/stretching I feel while on the toilet mean that I could be dilated a little? I didn’t do any cervical checks yet since the group b strep test hurt lol

I thought the same and had my appointment today same weeks and days as you but I’m not dialated at all it’s just baby is very low in my case ..

Same! But you could be close to dilation. I was 37 weeks and 1 cm dilated at my appt At first, Dr thought baby had a ways to go when looking at ultrasound. Then he felt in there and was like oh wow you’re actually dilating. Those contractions have been doing something..

Do the doctors automatically check once you get so far along or do you have to ask them to

@Michaela at 36 weeks mine offered to check mine. They told me my dilation, effacement, and station. After 36 weeks, my OB wanted to see me weekly. At each week, you can have your cervix checked.

I’ve felt the same but as of 38 weeks cervix was closed when they did a check. I’m feeling more and more pressure as time goes on but I’m not doing another check until I’m in the hospital.
