Extremely Salty breastmilk

Hello Just wondering if anyone can shed any light My 6 month old has been SO fussy on my boob - wondered what was going on when there's plenty of milk in there to be had I've had it before where he was fussy but he came out the other side and it was defs developmental or when he's been going through a growth spurt but I've just tasted a bit and it is EXTREMELY salty! Like reaalllyy bad! I've tried it a while back before and it was just subtly sweet - didn't really taste of much Feel awful for him Anyone know what's going on / why this is and it it will go back to normal? Really don't want him to self wean because it's so bad! Thank you x

Mastitis is a common reason for salty tasting breastmilk outside of that I’m not exactly sure but if your concerned reach out to your health care team (: 🫶🏼

@Parker 又 had mastitis 4 times so in this case I know it's not that 😩 the only time I wish it was so I know what's going on Thank you x

Is it your period? I have an IUD, and when I get a random bleed it's technically not a period but it still makes the milk saltier and the baby fussier. Just what you need when you have cramps! He's not going to self wean at 6 mo though, probably just going to be a bit grumpy until the taste goes back

I’ve heard if you do lots of exercise your milk can go salty.
