Rugby hold

How do people feed in the rugby hold while out and about? My little one will only feed in this position. I really want to master cross cradle but the latch isn’t good. My son is 5 weeks and we tried again today and he was feeding every twenty mins (assume he wasn’t getting enough) and my nipple start to get damaged again. The rugby hold is the only one we both get on with, but I find it awkward when I’m nor surrounded by pillows on the sofa 🤦‍♀️

Commenting to come back to because same!

I don't use it anymore. We always had rugby hold, he wouldn't feed well in any other positions until about 7 weeks so you may still learn a new position! I also used to worry about the amount of cushions stacked around me 😂 However I did see a lady doing it recently and she was sat crossed legged on the floor and she just rolled up her jumper and popped it under baby. You'll have to just keep practicing and see what works for you

Depends how heavy your baby is. I did it stood up but mine was a little one

@Elle thank you Elle, that gives me hope haha. Maybe I will try with his changing bag under me - I just don’t want to end up house bound 🤦‍♀️

@heather thanks Heather! Do you still have to use this position now, or did your little on use others too when they got a bit older?

My LO only fed efficiently in rugby position for the first few weeks she had a latch issue but not a tongue tie. I would try other positions and she wouldn't feed properly. I would say keep trying other positions especially when your baby is calmer and you've caught them just before they're screaming and starving! When my LO was calmer I found she was able to latch better in other positions but initially rugby was her favourite. The more you try other positions the more baby will get used to it. Plus he's only little at 5 weeks so don't worry things will get better x

The only way I can do rugby ball out of The house is almost sit her on my lap Legs facing to my side
