Dry at night

Is anyone’s little one dry at night yet? How long for? My little girl has been potty trained for over a year now, and she’s only recently just fully grasped it without as many accidents. But she is nowhere near dry at night, she seems to find her nappy comfort and I always ask her to use the toilet before bed but most nights she will refuse too, and will wait to go in a nappy! Where is everyone else at with night time?

Dont worry bout it. My 2 oldest were potty trained in the day at 2/3 but not at night till 6. I used to make em go right before bed and wake em up when i went and they still didnt manage it xxx

Hey! So my little girl has been dry at night for about three months now, maybe a little longer, she had one accident when she was poorly but other than that she’s been good, on the other hand my boy who is younger I haven’t even started potty training yet. With my eldest she was already waaaay more advanced than my youngest is so I doubt I’ll try with him for a while yet. If she’s only just grasped it I’d wait longer! Some children are a lot older when they sleep through the night without having any accidents! ❤️and even when they have grasped it accidents are still very normal! ❤️

My little boy was dry in the day just before his third birthday and he’s been dry at night other than a couple times for the past two months. We’ve just ditched the pull ups at night and second night he’s dry. We put a potty in his room which helps I think as he uses straight away when he wakes up x

Just to say it has taken my little girl 11 months to finally be confident with her toilet training (happily go morning and evening but was really lazy and refusing during the day) however she's been dry in the night for months with only the occasion wet pull up. I read that night time is more to do with hormonal changes that their bodies need to go through, yes there are strategies that we can do to help, but ultimately it is when their body is ready. Xx

My son has been potty trained since May, but nowhere near night trained. His pull up is always really wet and he often poops overnight. I'm not worried, night training is hormonal so they'll do it when ready

Thanks everyone for the reassurance 😊my niece is 6 weeks older than my daughter and she’s been dry at night for ages and it makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong!

My daughter was dry at night for months before i even started potty training in the day! She was still in nappies though just in case. However, It’s nothing you can teach, it’s a chemical thing that just happens naturally. We were very lucky and that’s it. I had absolutely nothing to do with it! So don’t feel like it’s something you’re doing wrong. It will just happen naturally one day!

@Tracy thank you this is really supportive and has made me feel a lot better ☺️

My daughter was dry at night for about six months last year, got a bad cold and ended up having accidents every night for a week (I put a nappy on the second night). Now it's unpredictable, sometimes it'll be a dry night sometimes it won't, but since then I've done nappy every night, I'd much rather keep her in nappies a bit longer than wake up twice a night changing wet sheets and clothes!
