Velcro baby

My baby is 2 weeks old and I literally can’t do anything he has to be held at all times, sometimes I can rock him to sleep in his rocker but it will only last for 30 mins and he starts screaming again, I’m not sure if he wants to be held or he has gas or what, I gave him some gas drops and everytime I hold him he goes right to sleep and stays asleep… any advice?

well, he’s still adjusting to life outside your womb! you gotta give him some time to settle in. in his world, you guys are attached still. it will get better within the next few weeks. but right now, soaking in all the cuddles is best for the both of you honestly.

@aria 🫧 I love the cuddles it’s just hard trying to go to bed cause I don’t like co sleeping

you’re in the ‘fourth trimester’. this is very normal. this is all new and scary you’re his comfort. so yeah he’s most likely not gassy but maybe baby wearing??

you could try pre heating his bassinet warm w a heating pad and taking it out before you put him in? swaddle him pretty tight and then putting your shirt (extra sweaty lol) around him so he can smell you! make sure he’s in deep sleep before you put him to bed.. kinda j trial and error. you’ll find the solution tho, let the instincts guide you ya totally got this.

I had a veteran mom tell me that she used to take her shirt from the day and use it as the sheet (put the mattress inside the shirt) in her kid's bassinet. The smell of mama was comforting and baby slept better.
