@moplez if you are in England then I know a good amount about it. If I can't answer your question, then I can signpost you to where to find the info :)
Thanks. My household income is less than £100,000 now because I am on Mat leave until August 2025. Am I entitled to 15 hours free childcare? I only ask because I read the following articles: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-62036045 https://www.gov.uk/apply-free-childcare-if-youre-working
@moplez yes you will be able to. You need to reconfirm your eligibility every 3 months and you need to be earning less than £100,000 over the year. You now won't be able to apply until December, for the funding to start in January. The £100,000 is based on an individuals earnings, not your households earning. It is also your net adjusted salary, so you can bring this down by paying more into your pension for example
@Larissa I appreciate the insightful response. Me and my partner earn less than £100,000 individually. Are we entitled to free childcare once my mat leave ceases?
You're welcome. Yes you are :) You will also be eligible to use tax free childcare which you could use straight away until January when you could then use funded hours. I don't believe you can use funded hours and tax free childcare at the same time though. However, if you would like to use a nanny, then you can only use tax free childcare and the nanny must be Ofsted registered
@Larissa Thank you very much.
I have a question about free childcare. Is this an area of your expertise?
