Sleep training

Ok please no judgmental comments! My son is 11 weeks old and has been co sleeping ( safe sleep 7, king bed, breastfeeding, dad works overnight so it’s just the two of us) he sleeps well, goes to sleep around 9:30- 10 wakes up for a bottle around 1 sleeps until 6 another bottle and then will sleep again until about 8/8:30 most days. I want to transition him to his crib around 3 or 4 months but am overwhelmed with information. Any tips? What worked for you?

I have been told not to put them in the crib till at least 6 months unless the crib in your room. I am moving mine to the crib once she out weighs the bassinet. I will have an owlet on her to calm my nerves. We do her naps during the day in the crib to help prepare her and get her used to her room and crib.

@Lisa yeah I have a bed in the nursery his dad works overnight so we got a full to put in there for the nights I want to be in there with him… he also is already 18 lbs and 25” long so he doesn’t really fit well in his bassinet. I’ll try the naps though!

@Brenna I feel like the naps will help and I think you being in there for when he wakes up will be good to show him he’s not alone.

I put my first in the crib at 4.5 months. Actually recommended by my pediatrician because we were waking her up. Many many mothers don’t follow the 6 month advice for a variety of reasons- it’s totally your comfort level just make sure you have a good video monitor so you can watch the baby. We are currently doing a night time routine and my boy sleeps through the night so honestly I’d put him in now if I wasn’t such a sap lol I’m just not mentally ready for him to not be in my room but he’s in a pack and play. if you don’t have a night time routine, start there. It signals that it’s time to sleep and then start putting him down by himself. He will be okay once he gets the hang. Just beware the 4 month regression is coming so if it goes well then suddenly doesn’t, it’s not the crib it’s a regression
