how long did it take for your supply to increase?

So I have been an undersupplier since my baby was born, I noticed the second day in the hospital after he was born that he didn’t look satisfied I didn’t start trying to increase my breast milk until he was like 3 weeks, I went from 1 oz to 1.5 oz in the morning and then the rest of my pump sessions are .5-.75. I was really looking forward to exclusively breast feeding so it breaks my heart to stop but my supply STILL hasn’t gone up. I take goats rue and moringa oatmeal every morning im eating and drinking enough, I have a lot less stress than when I first delivered I pump 5-6 sessions a day and aim for 1 power pump a day. I am trying to pump more but it’s hard during the night time. For my fellow under suppliers, how long did it take to increase supply, and what steps did you take? - oh and yes I saw a lactation consultant too

I'm a chronic undersupplier, too. Baby is 10 weeks and I still haven't really gotten my supply up. In talking to a lactation consultant and my doctor, some women just don't produce much. It could be age, hormones, genetics, or just your body. It seems like you're doing all the things, so keep trying and don't feel guilty

Is baby gaining weight? If so then you are not under supplying you are making exactly what your baby needs. The pump just isn't as effective at getting the milk as babu as. In order to increase supply you need to be extracting milk between 8-12 time in every 24 hour period so every 2-3 hours. If less than this then your supply will be dropping. What has you lactation consultant told you to do?

@Jenny yes she was telling me to breast pump more, stay up with diet intake and low stress, and to power pump once a day. I’ve had such a difficulty since he was born bc of the pain I was in my mom was holding him a lot in the hospital vs me. I’m in between both I supplement with formula mostly and then he has breast milk when I make a full OZ. And if I have him breast feeding I pump on the other side

Is baby's latch been checked? My LO has a posterior tongue tie so my supply dropped because she couldn't drain my breast properly. I ended up triple feeding and at 11 weeks old she finally got diagnosed, now waiting for something to be done about it so still triple feeding her. But every mum should be able to provide enough milk for their LO. Just sometimes there is something undiagnosed which is preventing that happening. Latch baby as much as possible. Every time baby shows signs of feeding, this will make sure they don't gain a preference to the bottle too. Do lots of skin to skin with baby and as hard as it all is, try not to stress about it, as this will not help your supply.
