Anyone else's baby line their toys up in a row?
I've heard of this being a sign of autism but could it also just be a developmental thing? He doesn't have any other signs of autism besides maybe flapping his arms when he's excited but I've seen loads of babies do that.
Tbh I'm pretty impressed at how well he can line things up. He loves to line up all his stacking cups in particular, but maybe he thinks that's just how you play with them? 😅 I guess I'm just posting in case someone knows more than I do about this sort of thing, I'm not worried at all, just curious
Absolutely just a development thing. The social media craze of 'signs of autism' is ridiculous as so many neurotypical children do these things. Autism is difficulties with social interaction and communication and repetitive and restrictive behaviours. Often this is paired with sensory difficulties, sleep struggles and learning difficulties. My eldest is autistic and one of his play schemas is organising and lining up but it's very low down on the list of criteria at assessment😂 Awareness is sometimes counterproductive when people are led to believe normal play schemas and child development is all signs of autism, trust me you would know if they were autistic😂 x
