I put ours on a baby spoon for my little one. The syringe is to jerky and isn’t nice for them 😩 (he is a little older but I have been doing this for a while)
Try squirting it into their cheek rather than into the middle of the mouth, found it makes it less likely to get spat straight back out again.
Agree with everyone above, milk bottle teat. One size up from the one you use. Or I used to do a tiny but at a time, took ages but got it down her. Or put dummy in straight after, makes them suck and swallow x
My lg absolutely hates calpol. We give it via syringe still but small amounts at a time. And we rub her cheeks so she can’t store it there or spit it out. I saw a nurse do it with the roto virus and it’s worked well. Still get tears though 😣
Yeah we put into a bottle teats and he suckles it out. We use mam bottles. He has the size 1 for milk and is able to get the calpol via the size 2. If that doesn't work try mixing with an ounce of warm milk.
@Sophie I stand by this! My baby refused it. I now give it to her in the syringe whilst her laying down and gently hold her cheeks together and she will swallow and not spit it out 😁 and I direction the syringe from the side of her mouth and point it to her cheek
Try a different flavour. My LO hates calpol spits it out and cries every time. I get the tesco own from their pharmacy that’s cherry flavoured and she takes it no problem x
My baby also prefers ibuprofen. And it’s smaller dose too! But you’ll need to make sure your baby is old enough and depends what it’s needed for
Syringe and towards back of the cheeks in small amounts, blow on their face (reflex to swallow), works everytime for us. I also walk around whilst doing this for soothing effect
My little girl HATES Calpol and will not take it under any circumstances. I've tried everything 😭😭😭😭
I saw a hack that said to put the syringe through a milk bottle teat and try giving it like that. Not sure if you’re bottle feeding or if it works though x
