Rh factor

Hi ladies. Anyone out there have rh- and a positive husband? My first born is positive. I found this out in previous pregnancies and have always gotten the RHOgam shot. I recently had a miscarriage in August around 6 weeks. I’ve been anxious because I did not get the shot. We had no idea that was what was happening at the time and I didn’t even think to get that to be honest. My doctor said they don’t administer before 12 weeks being there isn’t a risk of becoming sensitized. So, I will be okay my next pregnancy. Anyone out there have a miscarriage, did not get the shot, and go on to have a healthy pregnancy?

Hi love! I am Rh- as well and my very first pregnancy my doctor refused to test my blood even though I said I was Rh-. He never offered the shot or anything and I was 9 weeks when I lost them. My next pregnancy with my son I made my new doctor check 3 times to make sure I didn’t have the antibody’s. My son is my blood type so there where thankfully no problems. My 3rd pregnancy I was only 5 weeks and they said they do not give rhogam till 9 weeks as that’s when the risk really starts. This time I had bleeding at 5 weeks and 12 weeks and they gave me a rhogam at 5 weeks because they swore I was having another miscarriage. I just got NIPT results saying this little one is also my blood type. I’m unaware of my sons fathers blood type he could very well also be negative, but my now partner and father of this baby is positive. ❤️ sending love dear, you should be good, but you can have them do a blood test to make sure you didn’t start creating antibodies.

I had a miscarriage around 6 weeks and they gave me the shot. I’m not sure the importance of it but if you’re worried I’d consult with your doctor again or a different doctor

I’m with @Stephanie I had a miscarriage at 8weeks and I was given the shot because I’m also rh- Even tho my husband and I are the same blood type my dr still gave it to me. Us rh- goes into defense mode and starts attacking the fetus when we are pregnant with a positive blood type which causes our miscarriage most of the time. So no matter how far along you are they should give you the rhogam to help prevent miscarriages and other birth defects in the future.
