Colostrum

This is probably abit silly but is anyone struggling to touch and massage their breasts to get colostrum? I don’t know why it’s like a mental thing I just can’t bring myself to sit there and touch my breasts, I’m wondering if this is going to affect breastfeeding? Will I feel the same way, I’m sure I won’t but i haven’t been able to try and get any yet because I just can’t bring myself to do it, never thought I’d feel like this

Yeah I hate the look and feel of mine. The thought of anyone touching them is a no go. Don't even like it when my o/h does it. I'm constantly batting his hands away like no. That's the one thing that puts me off breastfeeding, knowing that there will be something latched on and its creeps me out at the thought of it

@Emily yeh I think this might be my problem as well, wouldn’t say I’m the biggest fan of my partner touching my boobs, so frustrating but glad to know I’m not alone xx

It's not unusual to get funny about your body during pregnancy. This will probably change when baby gets here and your natural instincts will kick in a little. Try not to worry too much and don't put pressure on yourself to collect colostrum if it doesn't feel right x

Remember harvesting colostrum is an extra. You are likely not to need it, it just means that if either of you need extra help they can give baby colostrum rather than formula but you don't actually NEED it. Look after your mental health first and foremost. Formula is there as an alternative if that is what works for you. A fed baby is a happy baby.
