Following to hear. I encapsulated my placenta myself, haven’t taken them.
I didn’t have a negative experience with it. I’ll probably do it again next time, as long as it’s done properly why not🤷♀️ my hospital had no problem giving it to me and didn’t say not to encapsulate
Following as well im looking into it from my baby’s birth 💚
I had it done and definitely noticed and increase in my energy levels and milk production than when I would forget to take it I found someone near where I live that does it privately it’s fairly simple I can’t see how it could harm u or be negative unless u have a bad reaction which can happen but unlikely
My hospital too had no issues just make sure you have someone to take it to be encapsulated right away the fresher it is the better it is for you. I was told it helps balances your mood too and I had very little mood swings PP which shocked me as I have had a history with mental illness like anxiety & depression
@Isabella what was the cost if you don’t mind me asking?
Also following for info cuz I was thinking about doing it the last two kids but never had anyone to ask about it. Seems like it has only been beneficial so far reading the comments !
So just to share, based on my research the high levels of progesterone commonly called the pregnancy hormone can decrease your milk supply because the body doesn’t like to produce milk while pregnant, I have bad luck so I feel like it would have that opposite than desired affect. Second reason I have decided not to is the low amount of studies and information out on it, most of the information currently available is opinion based rather than fact based. The third reason is due to a warning recently put out by the CDC where they found a postpartum mom had gotten group and the baby also got sick with group b strep when they tested the placenta capsules that she was taking that was where the contamination was found, and I feel like again my luck, I don’t want to risk not getting sick but my baby getting sick.
Following! Would love some first hand experience! I was gonna do it but then my obgyn advises strongly against it
