Weekend away anxiety

So my partner has booked for us to go away as a suprise for my birthday next weekend! (Somewhere cold in Europe) but I already have anxiety about leaving my 3.5 month baby girl it makes me feel sick. How can I relax myself? Any advice or similar feelings?

Could you bring her with you? Or do something different instead? have you told your partner how you feel about it? I remember reading in The Art of Breastfeeding how a woman was persuaded by her friends to go out on a date with her husband and leave the baby with them. She said that she didn’t enjoy the dinner at all and was counting down the minutes until they got home. In a book by Erica Komisar, she says that babies find separation from their mother really difficult.

Yeah I would also not be afraid to tell my partner this is too soon if you're not ready. It's a really nice gesture but if it rocks your mental heath it's not really a good present is it. It would be helpful for him to understand this as well

Agree that's too soon to be away from your baby. We are booked in for Brussels Christmas markets next month but our little one is coming with us ❤️ couldn't bare being apart from her for longer than an afternoon

My LO is 15 months and next month is the first time I’m going away without him, and I’m also nervous. I couldn’t have done it at 3.5 months-

See I've always been OK with leaving my baby, but that's because my parents are amazing grandparents and I trust them 1000%. I've had 3 kids now and they have been hands on with all 3 (they have 7 grandchildren in total). We've just had a weekend away and it was lush (baby girl was just over 5 months old).

My babies not even born yet and I feel the exact same as you 🫣 I couldn't leave her, booked a little break for me, parner and baby to Butlins when shes 7months old as Id much rather do little familys holidays

Can’t you take her with you guys? 3.5 months does seem very young to go away for a whole weekend abroad. That anxiety sickness is your gut speaking to you- trust your mother’s intuition. Your husband doesn’t have that but he needs to trust your intuition because you know best for baby
