Tearing

I had tearing during delivery and was wondering if they actually heal and close up or if it heals and left open. Mostly asking cause where the tear is is still painful. I stopped bleeding, I'm just feeling pain when I move, like sitting or getting up or even getting out of the car.

When did you deliver? I had my little girl on the 1st and tore upwards. They put some stitches in but I had seen a spot where it looked like it was left open and it has since closed up on its own, if you're concerned definitely talk to your doctor! :)

@Alicia I had my little boy on the 19th

It closes up eventually. It just takes a while.

I'm 5 weeks pp and my tear still feels pinchy when I sit certain ways

I’m 5 weeks PP and had a urethral tear and 2nd degree perineal tear. I still feel rare pinching/ piercing in my perineum, but for the most part it’s healed up. I will say I am absolutely terrified to look at anything down there 😞

With my first child I had an episiotomy (which the OB stitched up) and it still hurt 6 weeks later. Not sure if that’s normal or not because when I told her nurse it still hurt she said usually at 6 weeks it’s healed… but they didn’t see me or really give me anything except a prescription dose of acetaminophen, which didn’t do much. Chances are you’re probably fine, but I’d still ask your doctor to take a look. A friend of mine had hers sewn up wrong and it caused her issues for a long time.
